Lucas Calabrese is one of the most recognized skippers in South America. He is an Olympic sailor, who won a bronze medal in the 470 class in 2012. He has been ranked top five in the past 2 years and is aiming to win another medal in 2016 with his partner, Juan de la Fuente.Other highlights in his career are: Optimist World Champion, Bronze Medal at the 420 ISAF Youth Worlds as well as several South American and National championships.

Accomplished collegiate sailor at College of Charleston, Alie Toppa gets out on the water whenever she can, whether from their winter port-of-call in Ft. Lauderdale or from their summer home base in Newport, RI. Alie is really big into kitesurfing recently, and we both surf whenever we can. If she is not sailing, she is either surfing or kitesurfing or something like that. Just anything on the water.

I am from Gulf Breeze, Florida. I have been sailing, since I was 5 years old at the Pensacola Yacht Club. Sailing is the best sport ever…. I love it!! My two favorite places to sail so far are on Oyster Bay in New York and in St Thomas, but I can’t wait to sail on Lake Garda. This is my second time representing the USA. Last year I travelled with the team to Belgium and sailed in the cold, windy North Sea. Everyone thought my mom was crazy for letting me go, but I am glad she did. I am thankful for the amazing coaches that have helped me come so far at my age. My favorite thing about sailing is meeting new friends and I can’t wait to meet my teammates in Italy. Go USA!!!
